Selena Gomez talking about Justin Bieber - interview with Sydney's "The Telegraph"

SHE'S in one of the most talked-about relationships in Hollywood - but Selena Gomez would rather her 'tattoos' did the talking for her.
Snapped performing in Las Vegas this month with "Justin" drawn on her wrist in black marker pen, Gomez is clearly happy to fan the flames of her hot romance with star Justin Bieber.
But it will do nothing to help her deflect the bitter envy directed at her by Bieber's loyal fans.
"Of course I understand the jealousy," Gomez says.
"I absolutely get it. I've been a fan of a lot of people, too. I used to print out pictures of Jesse McCartney and put them on my school binder.
"I just try not to focus on what the whole world is saying about me and just be happy with myself and try to live my life as normal as possible. Although there are moments where I read things that hurt my feelings but, for most of the time, I don't surround my life with magazines or the internet. But at a certain point, it's unavoidable."

While she won't discuss her relationship, she does say: "The best thing about being in love is when you laugh so hard that your stomach hurts." She adds: "We have a lot in common."

When we meet, the raven-haired 19-year-old looks casually chic in a pair of white shorts, strappy heels, and a red-and-white striped shirt. Her hair is piled high in a ponytail, she is fresh-faced, and refreshingly, looks her age.
As lead singer of Selena Gomez And The Scene, on tour in Canada promoting their third hit album, When The Sun Goes Down, this is a time she relishes.
"I love performing my songs and I hope my fans will be inspired," she says.
Unlike some of her peers, Gomez is widely regarded as "the good girl", but she says: "I never said I wanted to be 'the good girl'."
Despite her squeaky-clean image, she's endured rumours ranging from an alleged pregnancy, drug addiction and an eating disorder which erupted after a stay in hospital on June 10.
She sighs. "It wasn't any big deal. I just wasn't eating properly. I was eating too much fried food and not getting enough protein and iron."
Gomez is appearing in the coming-of-age romantic comedy Monte Carlo. A child star since age seven, she says she's ready for this next phase of her career.
"I wanted to step into the film world that was a bit older than what I've done before but still remain in my age range," she says.
Like her predecessor, Miley Cyrus, Gomez enjoys a dual career as pop singer and actress. "I owe a lot to the Disney channel, but it's time to move on and grow up a little," she says. "I'm also appreciative of my fans and I'm doing it slowly."
Gomez, an only child, was raised by her mother, Mandy Cornett, a former stage actress, when her parents divorced. "I get a lot of strength from my mum. I think about the amazing things in my life - family and my fans - and that's what matters," she says.
Gomez launched a fashion line, Dream Out Loud, last year, with a fragrance line soon to follow.
"I love fashion," she says. To me, it's another part of expression. Everything that's on the shelves I approve and is inspired from what I like.
"I'm not concerned about wearing clothes that will end up on the best dressed lists. I don't want to be pretty for anybody else but me."
Clearly, she has a good head on her shoulders: "As long as I feel pretty and I feel confident in what I'm doing, that's all that really matters. My mum pushes me to be tougher. I don't know what I'd do without her. She's the driving force behind my success."
